Black Stone Fly

Fly Description

The Black Stonefly (specifically the Little Black Stonefly or Early Black Stonefly) is one of the very first insects to hatch in late winter and early spring. Anglers tightly mimic both the subsurface nymph and the floating dry fly versions to trick trout waking up from cold weather.
