Zebra Midge

The Zebra Midge is arguably the most famous, effective, and easy-to-tie midge pupa imitation in all of fly fishing. Originally popularized on the tailwaters of the American West, this sub-surface powerhouse mimics a hatching midge pupa (Chironomid) slowly ascending through the water column.Its immense popularity comes from its simplicity: it relies entirely on a slender thread body and highly reflective wire ribbing to mimic the natural segmentation and trapped gas bubbles of a real pupa.
